For Americans, I believe there is only tax for items $200 or more.

For Canadians, you should read this site: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/couri ... ree-e.html

Imported Items have applied GST, PST (for Ontarians), or HST (for some Maritime People).

Items $20 CAD or less are tax free to import.
Items $60 or less and marked as a gift are tax free to import.

Just so you know. If you value it at $60 or less and mark as a gift, you save up to 15%!

There may also be a flat fee, but I'm not sure about that.
