Wii VGA?

Does anyone know how to get VGA out of a Wii?
Or if it's possible?

Pal wii outputs rgb. Wich you can hook up to vga. (altough you might need a scan doubler)

I'm looking for NTSC Wii info if possible.

I think theres one at gamesx.com but sorry. The ntsc version does s-vid instead of rgb. As far as I know theres no way of getting rgb of it. (well you can buy one of those converter boxes)

edit: pal people wanting to do this might also need a sync seperator.

If it does S-video, use that on a good TV. It's nowhere near as good as true RGB or component video, but it's a huge step above composite.

You might be able to get RGB out of it if you figure out the video encoder chip. This is a big "might", since these spots may only be inside the chip itself, and all its external pins are for input, output, and power.

I think the easiest solution is a component cable and a component-to-VGA adapter. (Apparently they do make those adapters...) Once you get these parts you'll be playing Mario at full 720x480 on your monitor in no time!

Now i'm starting to get exited about this actually. I guess the wii has sync on green. (pal wii with scart) Anybody have a good sync seperator circuit for this purpose? (i'll buy a scart cable and modify it!)

This might work... or... hmm, maybe not. Sync on Green and Composite sync aren't the same thing, are they?

This circuit may not work for that reason... not sure. Sync has always been something that slightly confused me when it comes to video...

freakin NTSC wii gets the short end of the stick, component video is useless to me unless i get a 70$ converter box. my projector does RGBHV or sync on green RGB NO COMPONENT and S-video is interlaced only on it, ghey

But vga and tv rgb work on different freq's
