Damnation! SanDisk Photo Viewer problem.

I am making a digital picture frame using a PSOne screen and a Sandisk photo viewer. It worked. It had no problems. However, I scrwed the sandisk case onto the back of a styrene sheet for the back, and now the viewer has a problem. There is nothing wrong with the screen.

Here is the problem:

- None of the buttons work.
- Reader recognizes the insertion and removal of cards, and Power LED lights up when on and off when off.

- On startup, the viewer displays a full screen on black 3's with a grey background. After a while, the background scrolls downwards and a green background drops down. (Like a screen wipe effect). Then, very soon after it finishes the wiping, the 3s transform into thin dotted lines scrolling upwards, in between solid lines.

Any ideas?
