Need tech info on a plug "n" play
I making a portable out of a Namco Plug "n" Play. I need some pointers. I want to know if my pulg "n" play could run a screen and speakers/earphone jack with out adding extra battries. Which alrady uses 4 AA. If so how long (estamate) will it power everthing. And if so can run the system, screen, and speakers/earpone jack off the alrady instaled power switch without over welming the switch. By the way this will be my first portable that I will make.
Sadly, no one is going to be able to answer all of your questions without additional information, but I think I can at least point you in the right direction.
Your 4AA batteries should give you about 6v (5v if they're rechargeable I think.) This will probably run most screens that you would want to use, but you'd really have to actually look at the power requirements of the screen you plan on using.
As for how long it will last on 4AA batteries, that also depends on what screen you get, how much power the system uses and what batteries you're using. Just for reference, on the portable I made from a super joy, the system itself used something like 50mA, the screen I used (a hip gear screen pad that I modded with LEDs) used 300mA, so together that was 350mA. if you're using batteries rated at 1500mAh, it would last a little over 4 hours.
[edit] you would of course have to make your own calculations based on what you're using for your system[/edit]
I think your switch will be fine powering everything off and on
