I'm pretty sure the Sonic and Knuckles was some sort of add on for Genesis games that allowed you to play as Knuckles in Sonic games or something similar to that.

yea that is the game sonic and knuckles as well, along with knuckles being a playble character if you plug in an original to the top

That is an interesting question, though. If anyone has two copies, give it a try. At worst, it will give you the special stage error; at best, it fires up S&K.

one more post off topic, if you place a S&K cart on a S&K cart it gives you the "No way" message...meaing that is knows it isn't a sonic game compatible with the cart
