12+ screen under 2 in thick " slimline ben should of tryed that with the wii anyway i dont think my dvd drive works it might ill check when i got home but i plan to ether that the medal rods snd laser off the platic or drmel the hell out of the plastic but i do have a idea of how itll work cooling might take me awhile

I'm not sure if a Gamecube can be modded to be thinner then 2". Reason thing that if you keep it simple you still have it as a flip-top. You can get about 2" if you do use a 12" screen, as you can spread the system's boards over a larger area, rather then have it stacked on top of each other. Reason I don't think you can reduce the depth is the heat sink, unless you're going to get a different one, and add whole new complexity to the project it's going to dictate the depth you can achieve.

the absolute thinnest you can make a gamecube without a TON of really hard modification is about 2" the discdrive is 1.25" the mobo with modified heatsink is about .5 and then the discdrive board and power board make up another quarter inch or so. with some work you could get the cube down to 1.75. depends on how you wanna do it i guess. if you spread it by relocating the disc drive controller board the thinnest you could get is still 1.25"

Maybe you will want to flatten the gamecube the way I did. At its thickest point it is about 1.5" thick, with the thinnest areas around 1". I hope this helps

thats very slick dude! perfect for a laptop but somewhat trickier for a decent sized portable, my gamecube alone with the discdrive is only about 2.5" thick
