A Mac Question

I'm buying a MiniMac from a friend's Dad. They bought one and then didn't want it I'm getting it for $120

. So my question is can I use a pc keyboard and mouse or do I need a mac one?

You can use usb keyboards and mice.

I know that.

I meant cause the old mac I have (late 80s) has a special Mac key on it and I wondered if they still had them and if they were different than pc keyboards.

According to lowendmac it doesnt have ADB port. The mobo might be a legacy free I didnt see any legacy ports mentioned.

The MacMini has USB, Firewire 400, 10/100 Ethernet, a 56k Modem, DVI-out, and sound out. If you use a PC keyboard, I'm pretty sure the Apple key gets mapped to the Windows key, or something. They have the same number of keys, it's just a matter of what gets mapped where, so you should have no problems.

my wierless logitec board has usb and ps/2 its a fact! and it works on macs and costs more that what you paid to get your mini

make sure you upgrade the ram to 512 megs if it isn't. that's the sweet spot. 128 megs is too slow, occording to most people.

yeah, I have 128 mb of RAM and it's pretty slow

.....soon I'll probably upgrade to at least 256, and if I can, 512

............

I know that 128mb is the bare minimum for running OS X, hell I cant even install Firefox becuase of lack of ram.

The MacMini comes with 256MB of RAM stock. While this is technically enough to run OS X on, if it were me, I'd upgrade to 512MB right away. Then again, if it were me, I'd get a G5. Oh wait, I already do.
