New PN64 project - concept renders

Post by Neildo_64 »

Yes, I realize this is a lot like Tritons, but Ive had this design since before that (btw, nice work on that case Triton). These are some pictures I took of a model I whipped up real quick. The back isn't textured yet or I'd post pictures of it too.

This doesnt have the screen, vents, or speaker holes. Just for fun I guess.

I plan on making a separate box with controller ports and a USB out (to use the controller on PC). I also plan on adding composite in and audio in ports and possibly VGA. The games go into the back as though you were putting in a huge controller pak. The analog stick has taken the place of the d-pad and speakers sit where it used to be.

Imagine, VGA in and USB out. You could play Counterstrike with your Portable! (only it wouldn't be very portable wired to a PC) Hopefully it all turns out well. I've already wired half of the controller and I've started the case. I still need a PSone screen and an N64....broke all my other N64s and used my screen for something else.

I'm looking to buy a PSone screen and an N64 if anyone has them to sell/trade.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thats looking pretty nice man. Are you installing a rumble pak, expansion pak, and a memory pak?

It will have an expansion pak, and most likely built-in rumble (in the controller handles) and memory pak. I may not be able to fit all of that inside, so I might just make an external memory pak with internal rumble. I will have some better pics up sometime with a lot more detail about the features. I might post some pics of the actual progress later too.

it probably takes up less room to make the memory internal, if you strip it down theres really not much inside (vs trying to find a place for that huge slot thing)
