could I use 2 PSUs instead of 1 beastly PSU?

I'm building a new computer and it has a 3ghz OCed e4300 and an 8800GTS so it's pretty power hungry. I'm cheap and have a lot of PSUs laying around, but they probably don't have what it takes to power my compy (newegg says the GTS needs a PSU with 26A 12v). If I connect a 350w and a 500w PSU in parallel, assuming they have a high enough combined power output, would it work?

I don't see why it wouldn't. Of course, a bit of case modding would need to be done. And you'd have 3 power cords to deal with.

Well, my new fileserver case I made uses 2 PSUs. I used a female atx connector to wire a dongle so both turn on with one button.

I've actually seen some dual PSU cases out there for relatively cheap, a bit of searching should yield some good results.
