Playstaion RFU adapter to NES Adapter?

Playstaion RFU adapter to NES Adapter?

Hi I have a Playstation 1 RFU adapter and a NES Adapter with a eaten wire.
So I was woundering if I could cut the end of the PS1 adapter and remove the grey box and just keep the tip conecting to the NES?
