PSone Screen Modding to Power up?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSone Screen Modding to Power up?

Post by cyco vision »

Tried that method a while ago, it didn't work so I stop bothering with one of my screens. Well, recently I tried again but, again, it didn't work.

I got a response from HK-47 in my last thread about it might having to be modded for it to be powered up and I want to ask what this mod is. Maybe is will help me?

Thanks.

Some psone screens need 5V on the playstation av jack to turn the screen on. So unless you have it plugged into a powered on playstation at the time you'll need to modify it so that the playstation av jack gets 5V from the 7805 regulator in the lcd.

Yeah the mod above should work, but here is the official cable you need to input AV to PSOne screen:

It's the official type Sony uses with their equipment, including the screen.
It's also unique because it has STEREO (not MONO) input as well as video.
That should take full advantage of the screen's sound system.

Hope this helps.
If all else fails, take it apart!
