I need a circuit that will gradually spin up a computer fan (standard 12v, 80mm) and take about 5 seconds to reach maximum voltage. I've found that my fans will start so spin at around 3.3v.
So basically, what I really need is a circuit that will output 3.3v, and then gradually output 12v, linearly over a time span of 5 seconds. Does anybody here know of a circuit that could be used?

I'd imagine right now you wish you were a cuttlefish...
why not have a timed circuit that outputs a voltage at several points of a series of resistors
ie
1 2 3 4 5
in ----[===]---[===]---[===]----[===]---- out
at 0 sec it is at junciton 1, at 3 sec at junction 2 and so on, just and idea
or possibly a variable resistor that you manually turn up or down, or possibly just i dunno mabye a LCR circuit?
