xbox 360 controller - analog stick modding

I have read a few articles showing how someone was able to take a street fighter (SF) arcade controller and solder in an xbox 360 controller PCB to allow it to work on the 360. One of the articles that show this mod is linked below:

As you can see in the article they solder the d-pad to the SF joystick. So my question is... is there a way to solder the SF joystick to the analog stick on the PCB instead of the d-pad? What I am really asking is does anyone know where the solder points on the xbox 360 controller are for the analog sticks? If someone does could they please post a picture labeling them? Thank you.

Arcade sticks work differently than analog sticks so I doubt that you could replace the analog stick with an arcade joystick.

why would you want to? All arcade-type games use the d-pad. Using an arcade stick for a console game/3-D game is a bad idea, since both analog sticks are used like 95% of the time. It would just be really akward

I mentioned the arcade stick as more of a reference showing how someone was able to mod the xbox 360 controller.

So what I am really after is if anyone knows, hypothetically, to solder an analog stick to be a button or a joystick. For instance if you wanted to play a game that requires you to move using the analog stick then you could solder that to 4 buttons or a joystick. Whether it’s a good idea or not is irrelevant I’m just curious if it can be done and how. It is something that I have never seen before. There has to be a way to do what I am asking about.
