No. There's no way that I'd pay $80 more for a bigger hard drive, HDMI, and it being black. I wouldn't need a big honkin' hard drive unless I was storing movies on there, which I wouldn't be. I could not care less about HDMI; my TV is 30 years old and only takes RF anyway. Also, I have no need for an Xbox 360 until there is one that is wroth buying for under $300.

BTW, I'm posting this from my Xbox (not 360). linksboks + USB keyboard = able to browse the net while my computer is busy transcoding stuff and being slow.

The $300 one (core) doesn't come with a HDD. You could buy the core and the 120GB drive for a grand total of $480 (same as the Elite) but you wouldn't get the other stuff that comes with the Premium/Elite (wireless controller, hi-def cables w/optical out, etc.) And it would be white, which is fine if that's your thing.

Linksboxs is a Web Broswer for the Xbox (But it's homebrew, you need a modded Xbox)

I want a Xbox 360 elite. I've always wanted a 360, but black and a huge HDD really make me want it. I'll buy it over the summer.

I plan to get one since I don't have a 360 now! That way I can enjoy it fully!

And then your friends can laugh right back at you, because (depending on their circumstance) they bought a $400 premium system a year or more ago and have been able to enjoy it ever since while you've been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a price drop.

I have nothing against waiting for a price drop before buying a system just don't talk down to the people who bought the system before you. After all they are part of the reason that you will eventually be able to enjoy the price drop and all of the great games that have been and will be released for the system.

On the Elite front, I think it is a pretty good value for anyone who hasn't taken the 360 plunge yet. For those of us who already have one I see no reason to upgrade from the premium despite the fact that I do have an HDTV. 1080i looks pretty damn good to me. Hell the PS3 running Resistance at 720p over HDMI on the same set didn't look nearly as good as any number of 360 games running at 1080i.

Well first off, you can't 'upgrade' a HDD that doesn't exist. ;)

Secondly, why buy the core and then buy the HDD? For the 399 total you coulda bought a Premium in the first place.

Or was this a joke I just didn't get in the first place?

Well theres a core xbox on ebay with a upgrade to a 20 gig hardrive so it can work. And you can buy a 20 gig HD for the xbox 360 for like 50 bucks.
