I would use a the dish part of an old one and find a way to make the rest. I am almost sure there is some nerd out there that knows how to do this and is getting free Internet and TV

Just use a regular pair of rabbit ears. You can get them for $10 at Wal-Mart.

1. go to hardware store
2. pick up about 5-6 ft of 1inch copper pipe
3. make 2 rings out of 2 pieces of pipe (make sure not to commect ends)
4. attach to wooden post (again make sure they don't touch and make them parallel to each other in a horizontal fashion)
5. strip coax wire
6. attach copper wire from coax to one end of pipe and hook coax into tv
7. set tv to antenna reception
8. scan for channels
9. enjoy free broadcast (at least till 2008)
10. tell your friends you know how to make an antenna

i dont think he is talking regular broadcast tv. i assume he is talking about FTA satalite transmissions!

Yeah. If I had the right equipment, I'd be doing the same thing. Free-to-air satellite FTW! (...damn, it'd be nice to own a DVB-S tuner PCI card...)

Ah, then a DVB-S tuner should do the trick. I believe you can get one on newegg for like $60 these days. (I could be wrong)

Oh, then just buy a dish! Dish 500's seem to be pretty easy to find for free these days! (craigslist is your friend)
