GBA screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Read Sticky. You can't. You need an adapter. Adapter is rare. Not worth it. Read Sticky. You can't. You need an adapter. Adapter is rare. Not worth it.

FUNdamentals to live by when thinking about using a GBA screen in a portable.

If you can find a video input cartridge for the GBA you can use it... but you have to leave the entire Game Boy intact, you can't just pull out the screen.

Please check the stickies next time. :)

EDIT: Wow! screen post # 10,000

I believe you could, but it'd be expensive and way too much work. http://www.tripoint.org/kevtris/Project ... index.html = somebody using a Sega Nomad screen... but if you could build something like that without any real instructions than whats there, you'd probably already know a GBA screen wouldn't work.

the very page you linked to wrote:The job was fairly straight-foreward. I reverse-engineered the LCD/power supply on the Nomad after getting rid of the Nomad's processor/game board. I then made a chroma-decoder which would take the NES' composite signal and turn it into RGB which the LCD required.
That's analog RGB, NOT the digital signals the GBA screen needs. They're two very different things. It's much easier to make a decoder to turn composite inot RGB than it is to convert composite to the screen's digital signals.
