Has there ever been a on-a-chip for the 400 or 800?
I mean, there was a C64 one, so why not the 800 / 400?

Not they don't have one, yet, I hope. The truth is that if you want an Atari computer you should buy one, I would suggest at least the XE series, the XEGS would be the best to use (same as Ben's).
