Ben's cases, and the art of engraving plastic

Wondering if anybody here is following any of Ben's case design "by the book", and having the case parts done by using the support files he's provided.

I was going to do the Atari 2600 CNC and was wondering whether to buy the case parts from Ben, or try to save a buck and try to have them made myself. Or, even better, if somebody's had these pieces cut already, and had quantities made to save money (seems most prudent from what I've learned so far), and would like to sell me a set for a reasonable cost, please let me know.

If not, I have some questions about the files, and anybody's personal experiences with this would be appreciated. Looking for responses from individuals who have followed his case design instructions to successful completion.

Note: I've already met with a fella that ran a sign shop who was less than enthusiastic about my project. Seems like this route will be expensive unless made in some sort of quantity. Note, this is for laser cutting and engraving, not routing, as Ben recommends. And this is to say nothing of printing the labels on clear vinyl!

I'm not certain if any of the regulars here have done any of Ben's CNC designs. I personally tried out the SNES by hand design (didn't like it) and instead decided to do the NES by hand design with some modifications of my own.

I dunno - for me personally I gave up the idea of having it professionally cut somewhere just due to the hassle of hunting someone down and then paying out the wazoo for it.

Can anybody think of someone who's had one of Ben's CNC designs made (aside from ordering it from Ben)?

Well, how about purchasing one of Ben's project kits? Has anybody here ever ordered one?

It seems like more of a hassle to make one myself, I'd rather follow a plan to have one CNC cut (more professional looking), and I personally like his case designs.

I was going to be lazy and use Ben's CNC plans for the PSone, but depending on the cost of the use of a CNC machine, and if I get paid sometime in the near future (I work for my parents buisness), I may just buy one from Ben.
