Fixing a ds hinge?

Post by jedi knight »

The other day i picked up my ds to see that the hinge was broken (I still wish i knew how it happened :?). The top half of my ds is only secured halfway. Here is a picture of it

Anyone have an idea on how to fix it? I'd rather not buy a replacement case off of ebay so please don't suggest that. Thanks in advance!

Does it still work? It looks like part of the hinge broke off, maybe you can just push the top back into the bottom.
I might buy it if you want to sell it.

Yeah it still works and all, it's just really annoying. If i push it back on, it pops back on. Sorry vskid but I'd rather not sell it.

I have the same problem. Is the black rotating part still in it?

yep, same thing happened with my DS, and my Friends DS, his dropped out of his father's SUV and hit the Concrete, mine slipped out of my hands after I washed my hands in the Bathroom and smacked the side of the Curamic Bathtub and then hit the floor causeing what you see there.

Get some paperclip and superglue and attach the remaining hinge to the black part. Or epoxy. Or send it to me and I'll do it for $5 + shipping

Well, I've repaired atleast 6, and Have leared all sorts of techniques. Epoxy is number 1 though.
