I think my PS1 screen is fried

well, I tried doing a PS1p using a release model PS1, but fried the board. the board and screen were only connected using the Connector-thing, no elctric. How can I find out if my PS1 screen is fried? I dont have a small ps1.

try smelling it. usually when I fry something, it smells burnt.

continue the mod until you can turn it on, then if nothing happens, whip out your multimeter. usually the first thing to fry is the power source and ICs. (dont know if this is true or not...)

some components (transistors and resistors and fuses) are fried often.

how much voltage was in the connector (if there was). you might have connected wrong.

the screen is 7.5v. and it doesnt smell bad.

try it on a Mini PS1. If it works, then it isn't fried.

well... try another project. you might have done something wrong.
use a mini ps1. I think the original ps1 might have been fried because of its easily blown power regulating parts (transformer)
you should stick with ps1. it has ezternal power, which is better.....

So the screen just goes black when you turn it on? Chances are you blew the fuse, check that if you already haven't. Otherwise you probably fried the backlight, an LED mod should do the trick (that happened on all three of mine).
