Cable TV and RGB on the PSOne screen?

Well, after almost a year of dreaming, I'm finally going through with it. My parents let me square off a section of the house, I bought all the parts, and now it's time! Time for me to build... My budget home theater! :lol:

Anyways, I'm making a projector based off of this how-to using a PSOne screen as the hacked TFT LCD. I've already got the Composite video IN soldered up, but I also want component RGB video IN and a cable TV input. How would I wire these up, and what kind of parts would I need? If I'm not being clear enough, just let me know.

I dunno about RGB on the official psone screen but I do know that you'll need a tv-decoder for the cable tv input.

psone screen can do RGB i think.

Here it is.

Dont know to much about cable input tho... What you need is a Converter to go from RF to Composite or something like that.

Wait, so you want composite, component, rgb, and rf inputs? The psone LCD can do rgb and composite right away, pretty sure it can't to component, and RF would require a tv tuner that converts it to composite/audio with buttons to change the input frequency (channel)

What you can do is buy an old VCR and have the TV cable run into it and it should have a composite output which you would connect to your Screen. But I do not remember if you can change the channel with just the VCR...


If possible open up the VCR and isolate the circuit (i would assume this would be very hard).

If you could get a stand alone TV converter (i think they make some for CRT monitors) then you could do it.

Okay, so an old VCR can function as that? Cool. Anyone know a specific model that would do the job, or should any VCR have that capability?

Any VCR with video outputs and cable inputs will work.
