How can I hack the PStwo Infared Sensor

Ok I just Got a PSTwo over the Holidays, and I relize that it has a Built in IR Sensor, Has anyone figured out the Programming codes so I dont have to buy Sony's over priced DVD remote?

If Someone knows I would like to know also

buy a replacement remote for a dvd player that you can program and see if you can get it to work with it.

sony reuses its dvd/vcr/tv codes over and over so you might get lucky. or search online maybe someone has already found one.

Use LIRC (or WinLIRC for Windows), with this configuration file. All you need to do is make this do-hickey:

Plugs into your serial port. That's it! BTW, the PS2 remote's official model number is SCPH-10150.

Thanks, what Stuff Do I need. I know the Resistor but what type and I can Find IR LEDs cheap same goes with the Serial port Cables.

call me dumb, but why would that circuit need a diode if there is already a light-emitting one in there?

It's for a computer to control the PS2. An odd way to go around getting a remote control, but I suppose it'd work.

yeah i know, but between DTR and what i assume is ground, there are two diodes in the same direction. isnt that like... redundant?
