sure, they're great. theyre perfect for portables.
But aren't they a little too hot for just the glue?
look at what it did to strong plastic:

your standard mini low power hot glue gun
[img][/img]
some nice strong (REALLY strong) plastic
[img][/img]
the hot glue gun sees the plastic
[img][/img]
the hot glue gun attacks the plastic
[img][/img]
and the hot glue gun destroys the plastic in less than a second.
just how hot are these things- and I would like a temp please.
this post was to show that hot glue guns aren't always good for plastic working. but hot glue guns are awesome
just how hot are hot glue guns?

SAY ALLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!!!i finally used google!!Hot Glue guns get to about 120-150 F, they might get hotter then that depending on what glue you use and the size. Typically when I use a glue gun I'm sure to have a bead of glue on the tip before I begin applying it to the item in question. Also the gun I use has a bad but in a way good habit of collecting glue around that metal tip. This keeps me from burning myself, or any objects by accident. You could do this your self just just letting the gun heat up and taking a spare or unused stick and melting the glue on the tip, be sure to have some room between the tip and the glue otherwise you risk the glue leaving the gun getting caught on the shield of glue you just made.

yeah, my glue gun has a film of glue around the nozzle that protects me from blisters. you can tell that the blisters I got are not from the gun
because of this.
because of this.
