I'm getting an M3 adapter and a Passkey from fellow BenHeckler, Kyosho, but I really don't know much about it. I heard many good things about it online, and I don't need my GameCube anymore, so I figured, "What the heck!"

What are some good apps, games, whatever that I can get. I mean, how does this even work? What do I Google when I want DS apps? This is apparently a drag and drop interface, so what do I drag and drop? I like movies, I heard about... Moon... something. That plays MP3's. It's got an NES emulator built right in. How does a Passkey work?

I really know nothing about this in case you haven't noticed.

Google "DS Homebrew applications" Feelin lucky took me to a good site.

Apps: DS2Key - Controll your PC wirelessly through your wireless network(beta but functional)
Moonshell- A MUST for audio/video stimulation. Very functional, customizable, and fast.

Games(Emulators): SnezziDS - SNES emu for DS (beta, but MMX runs sweeeet.)
NESDS- Good nes emu
Other emu's- I don't know. Never tested them before.

You'll need a passkey3 (best kind) to use NDS functionality if your DS isn't flashed.

Moonshell doesn't have a nes emu built in. IDK if there are any plugins that let you do that.

I have plans to make a sticky w/ this stuff. People ask these questions all the time. No prob.

Thanks! That's a lot! I didn't think the DS was powerful enough to emulate a SNES. Can it emulate the SuperFX chip SNES games, like StarFox?

The snes emu really isn't that powerful, The only games That Iv'e emu'ed are Lttp, SMW, and MMX but all(exept mmx) with some kind of bug. I've been working on snezzi for a while now, so expect an update soon.

clarification:

you need a passkey to boot ANY non-commercial-game-code if your DS is not flashed. if your DS IS flashed so it can boot other code, you will still need the passkey or any other DS game inserted for ds games ('backups') to work properly, because there is some ram on the cart that they need, IIRC.

M3 is crap, it has low compatibility for homebrew, but high compatibility for warez.
And you need an SD card for it.. Micro I think.

Well I got my M3, but the Passykey hasn't arrived yet. So for now I'm stuck with GBA homebrew. Which sucks. I haven't found any good games, and the NES emulator is crap. Anyone know any good GBA homebrew?

Haha M3 adapter. Those really suck. With higher firmware versions you expect features to get better? Nope! They SUCK even more! Supercard CF for the ultimate win.

I've decided that all the DS has over PSP for homebrew is Linux. I mean "LIEK OMG I CAN RUN the LUNEX WITH 1000 DS AND MAKE CLUSTER TO SERVE INTERNETS."

Um, thanks for your kind words? What is so bad about it? It won't load GBA roms over 2 mb, but so what? I don't even like GBA games!
