I heard ben talk about it on the future of video games 3, but what is beta, is it better than VHS?

Oh yeah, I heard ben talk about what if the SNES ran off VCD's, and the plans for the N-Forcer, is that the games I make for it, run from VCD's, and the system will have a built in VCD player.

Beta is a videotape format, slightly smaller in physical size than VHS. It was from Sony and a potential rival to VHS during the 80's.

TV studios use (and still use) a form of it called Betacam SP. It has more lines of resolution than VHS.
