How the heck......

Post by SNESguy »

This may have been discussed in some discreet part of POD before, but how does ben label the buttons on his portables??(like X,Y, A,B etc.)
This has really been stumping me for a while...

I doubt its just paint because that would wear off quickly.

Does anybody know how this is done?

I believe he uses decals. This is the closest you'll get (I believe this is the right URL, I can't check) http://www.doomportables.org/cases.html

OK so where's a good place to find them? Craft store maybe?

POD mentions printing them out with inkjet, do those exist?
Thanks

I've been using Tattoo paper for years for the portables

Go buy tattoo paper for a inkjet then all you do is cut it as small as you like and stick it on :)

I add a spray ontop to keep it stuck to the plastic and also so it wont rub off :)

They're thermally printed vinyl decals. I have sign shops make them.

If you can, design them in vector using Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw. Next, find like a one-man "in his garage" kind of sign shop to get the best price. They should also be able to use an "auto-knife" machine to cut the perimeters of the shapes for you.

Have fun!

Hm, i think it would be cool if you took a knife, and like sliced part of it out, it would be cool.
I'm the man, if you don't think so, you're wrong.
