nes portable ???

Post by metal_mattt »

im going to be making an nes portable using an noac. i have read a few post about current. and i still have a few questions.
if current is drawn from batteries , then i could get something like this, http://www.batteryspace.com/index.asp?P ... ProdID=172
, and i would not have to worry about it frying my noac, or my psone screen, right?

and does anyone know how long a super joy 3 can run on 4AA batteries, and how much current it uses?

if im wrong about current feel free to correct me, please!

As long as you use voltage regulators. Yep!

The NOAC by itself uses about 70 milliamps, but if you modify it to use a cartridge(optimal), then it uses about 110 milliamps. It's still really low compared to a real NES. Hope this helps. :D

BTW, I have done this already, so you can trust me on those answers.
AA batteries output about 2.5 AMPS, so divide that by 0.070 or 0.110. (Those are the same but just in decimal.)
