small amps

im gonna be needing to build a small amp for my next portable and i need some recommendations. anything that is really small and simple to put together is cool for me,

it only needs to output mono because I'm only having one speaker for this portable

i was kinda thinking something like that amp ben put in his NES micro

How about a simple darlington transistor amp with a trimmer on the input?

Here's the PDF for the very simple amp I made. All I used were a couple caps and a pot for sterio. It's really simple and powerful enough. I got mine from a broken little kids toy but I'm sure you'll be able to find one somewhere

check out the LM380 As used by segasonicfan
The added componets are not that much and it will run at the 7.2v needed to power a portable (i think, I know that 9v works) Anyway, these are 3.5Watt OP-AMPS

All you need extra is two Caps, a resistor and your trim pot
