I just upgraded from crappy on board video to GeForce MX4000. I installed the driver and that went well but it keeps making my computer freeze. It freezes whenever I start any program other than Firefox and makes some files not work. I downloaded the lasted driver from the Nvidia website but it says it's a corrupted file and won't open. It freezes windows but works fine with Linux (by the way I will not switch to Linux). What should I do?

Maybe not that.daguuy wrote:*shoots computer with shotgun, catches it on fire, and throws it out window*
What was the original driver you installed? My ATI Radeon 8500DV All-In-Wonder would only work with the drivers that came with it, all others caused it to freeze up when running games. I had to find a new driver specifically for it. Maybe its the same with yours, or it could be that your onboard video is still enabled and screwing it up, but gets disabled in linux, so it works.
