I just used an Atari shell I had laying around and made it into a speaker
Basically it is three speakers (two are from a random subwoofer set I found in a dumpster at school and I don't know where the other one is from. I attached them with wires, and rigged it to my speaker system (four speaker surround sound, with wireless rear speakers, all free!!!) I like the sounds its added. Very nice!

Very cool, you should put the lid on the thing and drill some holes in that for the sound to escape. You could also get a cheap boombox and wire that into the inside. Did you know that the original prototype Atari 2600 had built in speakers? The first retial line had holes in the shell and holders for the speakers on the inside, but the speakers didn't fit in to Atari's budget, so they eliminated the holders and any hope of the feature all together.

Do you just let the sound escape throught the speaker and switch holes? Did you drill holes? Or does it have the slits for the speakers that were originally gonna go in there.
Wait, never mind I can see the factory slits on either side of the Atari now. But nice idea. But don't post anything having to do with modding an Atari over on AtariAge. You're sure to get flamed. There are too many purists over there.
