5.6 TFT (XBox LCD) black and white for NOAC

At times... certain things in life elude even me. I have a SuperMegaHappyFunTimeTomCruiseJoypad NOAC... and it shows up as color on my every TV I've tried, but the damn thing is all Black and White on the new LCD. I've tried other inputs on the LCD (I.E Camera *(with the same cables!)) and it works funderfully, but for some reason the SMHFTTCJ NOAC pops out all black and white... I know many of us are retro gamers... but this is a little TOO retro an effect for me.
From the little I know about Composite signal... I assume maybe the sync is... wait for it... out of sync.
Any input or feedback would just plain rawk.

Also... I have an LCD from an alarm clock and was wondering if I could make that a portable...

Maybe your LCD TV can't accept the Composite signals too well. Try putting the NOAC AV cables through an AV to Coxial cable converter box. you can get them at walmart or radioshack or someplace pretty cheap.

If it doesn't take Coxial cables, then there is a type of AV in cable that works on Video cameras that has a jack that also fits in a headphone jack. you might get color, but I don't know. if your NOAC got damaged, than that may be the culprit.

Actually, where do you live (region wise) and where did you buy the screen? This also sounds like a improper region video signal.

from simular issues with a PSOne screen i would suggest checking the the strength of the video signal and how you are powering it, sometimes your strandard wall voltage regulator doesnt output the right current or the right frequency for the device which can cause this and other wierd problems

hmm...have you tried filtering the noac through something before putting it into the lcd? (like a vcr). If it works after that I'd say it's probably signal strength, but could also be a noisy signal.

It's an XBox LCD screen. I don't have anything to filter through, but I'll jump on signal strength as the probable problem, playing with it more, I finally got a little bit of color into it (not fidgeting, just playing Mario on it for a while and the color kicked in a little bit.)
All the items are US with me, so it's all NTSC.
I retried the NOAC on my regular TV and the color was fine!
This was more a curiosity question than a 'it's gotta work!' thing, since this screen will be for the XBP project down the road, I just got bored waiting for my NOAC screen to come in and found that I could open up a whole can of worms that might help osme people in the future.
Has anybody else had issues with a NOAC and these 'portable' LCDs?
I'de love to put together a fix just for future game hax.

I'm thinking there could be a loose connection either in the gamepad or LCD. As for the black and white issue, the only two times I got a black and white output is when the region was wrong or I had to do a composite to S-Video mod where the chroma wire came loose so I lost the color signal. My advice is if nothing else works, crack those suckers open and check for any loose or faulty wiring.

I have a pelican 7" that had the same problem, The video ground ( brown wire in mine needed to be grounded with the source ground. worked fine after that.
