I think I fried an ic on my lcd board but I'm not sure. I have the lcd screen twice so I tried both of the lcd modules. None of them work well on the 'broken' board.
I get a picture, but it's all messed up with thin black lines running through it and horizontal bars.
I'm sure there's nothing wrong with my signal input or my shielding. I think it's the switching regulator because I saw sparks coming from it when I powered the screen. There's also a tiny smd capacitor where I soldered on.
I would like to know what this ic is for? What does it do and why does my picture gets messed up because of it being broken?
this is a datasheet

DC-DC switching regulator fried?
Moderator: Moderators
Maybe I can give a better explanation. I did the led mod but the leds weren't bright at all.
So I tried connecting the leds to the switching regulator. I somehow fried the switching regulator by doing that so I'm going to have to buy a new one.
Anyway, I still need the leds to be brighter. And because it's not an official ps1 screen I don't have any idea where to connect it to. Could I make a circuit to make the leds brighter? Or do I just up the current?
Thanks
