Project cases.

I was at Fry's electronics and they have these metal project cases that would be PERFECT for portables. They were all like $5.00 and stuff. Only thing is how would you cut the metal, I don't know but still cool!

Well, I dunno... WHAT KIND OF TOOL! It is very thick metal so scissors will not work.

angle grinder is probably your best bet.

What kind of metal is it, aluminimum, steel, cast iron, copper, brass, titanium, Each metal has a different tool that is most suited to it but overall the dremel is great for most of them except titanium, for that you need some kind of carbide cutting bit or drill.

Break out the tin shears, hack saw, and Army combat knife (if you have one- I do and it's good on metal.) Make a starting slit and use the other tools the rest of the way.

I've checked out their project enclosures before, but none of 'em are all that great. I actually have one, that I was going to use for a NOACp, then I discovered vacuum forming (aka time and money).

I actually need some laptop screen hinges. Some that can easily be mounted to a custom made screen case through custom made mounting holes. I'm hoping to find some at least similar to the ones my laptop has. (IBM model:R52).

If I can, I'm gonna make my portable case out of ABS, and the base piece will have one plate of metal covering the ABS to absorb some of the heat from the cooling system. (specifically the radiator)

If anyone has any quick-links or ideas, I'd appreciate them.
