How can i find out how watts many my power supply is?

i'm looking to buy a new video card and i need to know, how watts my power supply can put out. is there any program or internet site that could tell me. i got a Compaq s3100an, if anybody knows it would a great help

EDIT: i got another question, can i use a 24 pin power plug in a 20 pin motherboard?

There's not really a good way that I know of to check how many watts your power supply will put out without opening the case and looking at the PS.

Also, on the 24 pin connectors, usually the last 4 pins are detachable so you can use it with a 20 pin mobo

If it's an OEM from Compaq, chances are it's about 250 to 300 watts. (That's just a shot in the dark. I have no clue what it is exactly.)
