I'm frikin tired of it!

Alright here is the dilemia...I have dial-up and a wii

I want to play online games and use virtual console...

What can I do?

I have heard of someone using an network adapter to their computer to get xbox live on the old black xbox Could I do the same with a wii? (with a lag in time of course)

I mainly want to have the ability to join games (I wouldn't startthem for the sake of the rest of the world...)

LOL, the Wii will probably terminate the 3KBps connection before you get past the Wii store loading screen!

Just take the Wii to someone's house who has a Wifi router & DSL/Cable, download the latest firmware upgrade (I think it's required, & plus there's a few fixes in it over the original firmware)

THEN get VC games.

You could buy the Nintendo USB Wifi adapter. For the VC games it should be fine with dialup and try online games as I don't know if it would lag or not. Here's a guide to help with it at least for the DS but just substitute the DS part for the Wii. Link

EDIT: As I also am incapable of getting DSL so I researched and found this guide this past week before I got my Wii.

I don't know if you want to go this rout, but D-Link makes routers that have a serial port for an external modem. You can configure the D-Link to dial your ISP and it will share your dial-up internet with all the computers connected to it, even Wi-Fi ones. The router that I use is a DI-824VUP, but you don't need one with all the VPN stuff. Just make sure that the router has the option for Dial-up backup. If you use that, you will need to get a router and an external modem. Also, it is slow, and if any of your computers connected to it start downloading automatic updates or virus defs, then nobody else can browse.
