I was thinking of doing a nesp project with integrating a flash rom inplace of the rom that the built-in games are located on, in turn making me be able to flash NES roms i own to the unit. The only problem is i'm not sure the architecture of how that is set up. A really bad set up for this hack would be if the BIOS even is located on the same chip, because i would have to read the chip, copy the BIOS and do some fun reverse-engineering to figure out exactly how the ROMs are stored on the chip. An easier one would be that the ROMs are stored on the chip seperatly and the BIOS knows how to search and run the games.
What do you think the feasability of this idea is, granted i know enough 6502 assembler, hold the basic hardware skills needed, and building an interface between the flash rom and the system isnt a large problem?
- I plan to keep the Fami port but remove it and create a custom cable that i can attach the fami port back to the system when needed, but leave it disattached most of the time since i can flash the rom with new nes ROMs when i want to.

I brought this up a while back, you would be better off waiting for the Funky flash cart to be completed and then just directly wire the board, shrunken of course, in to the system {portable} .
