My PS-One site, and some new questions

It shows how to connect it to an Amiga, Apple IIgs, Composite, and VGA.

For my spaceship project, I am needing several screens. It appears the PS-One is still the cheapest I can find. Quality isn't that important, but I do think 5.0" (in a 4x3) is definitely the smallest I'm willing to work with. Since I'm not trying to make anything portable, size of the board and whatnot isn't a concern for me.

My two complaints about the PS-One scren, which I hope somebody here can shed some light on, are as follows:

1) The screen doesn't have S-Video. I mean, the RGB is nice, but the device I'm going to be running it from uses S-Video (The Commodore DTV board) but I'm forced to use composite instead.

2) The input voltage is a bizzare 7.5V. I actually have a cigarette lighter adapter that came with one of my screens which is supposed to convert 12V down to 7.5. However, this is not true. In realitiy, the converter will convert 13V down to 7.5 (as a car would have) but if I connect the converter to a regulated 12V supply (such as an ATX power supply) then it will not work. So what I need to find is a way to run the thing off of 5V or 12V, either will do. Or, at least a better way to convert 12V down to 7.5V. Thank you!

I think a voltage regulator called "LM7808" is what you want for stepping down the voltage. Should work.

Also, the input voltage doesn't have to be exactly 7.5 volts. I think it ranges from 7-point-something up to 9 volts.

As for S-Video, I think there's a thread somewhere around here dealing with that... But from what I can remember it didn't pan out...
