Final Fantasy XII is coming!!! :D

It's official: FFXII is coming out on October 31st! I'm going to GameStop tomorrow to switch my reservation to the Collector's Edition when I pick up Black. I can't wait! The game itself looks so incredible, and it's been hailed as the greatest Final Fantasy since FFIV. Seriously, when Weekly Famitsu gives it a perfect 10, you know something's good about it. In the 15 years the magazine has been around, only 7 titles have recieved that honor. Those guys are bigger hardasses than IGN! Well, hope to see you guys at GameStop!

Hehe, well IV and VI have been the most critcally-acclaimed Final Fantasies of them all, and constantly recieve the top honors among fans. Seven was good, but I think it was pretty over-rated; Even GameSpy agrees with me! (see #7).

EDIT: Oh yeah, I read somewhere that they are currently working on a sequel for the DS. It would be dumb not to bring the original out on the Wii and then all of a sudden release a sequel on the DS...

Well, you're right about the PS2 thing, but they ARE making an FFXII sequel for the DS known as Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

Well why would you buy a sequel if you didn't have the ability to play the original I think it's stupid, they should make it on PSP and not on the DS...

I played the demo that came with Dragon Quest VIII and I wasn't too impressed with the new method for fighting. Then, after seeing the video review here, I saw that my concerns for the battling in the demo were still present in the final product. And the reviewers of the game picked up on these problems, too, as well as pointed out some other obvious flaws with the game's mechanics, so I'll have to hold my praises for the release of FFIII.

wow, that's exactly what I was thinking!
I'll broaden it a bit, to include all square/enix games. that last dragon warrior game was beyond bad. (and for some reason everybody says they love it, maybe my brain is defective.)

I'll give it a try if:
minigames aren't more important/complex than main story
there's no online function
characters don't 'shiver', and are created in a way where I don't enjoy killing my own team
battle 'wait mode' actually waits for me to finish my beer

seriously final fantasy games haven't even been entertainment lately. aside from the remakes, but you can only read the same book so many times... still, the level of positive review on this is making me want to give this a chance. once it goes 'greatest hits'
