Sure, I'm working on a portable, but I thought it would be a nice change of pace to make a different kind of project. I was pulling apart my SNES for a portable when I suddenly thought, what am I going to do with the empty case? Then it hit me. Why not stuff a mini-pc inside of it.
My idea is to use a mini-pc motherboard with a single core cpu and a graphics chip instead of a card. A small fan should do the trick for cooling and some LEDs would look awesome in the inbuilt vents in the SNES case. I have 2 small dual port USB hubs, which would easily fit in the controller ports. A top loading optical drive would probably be the only viable option space-wise.
So, what do you think. Is it viable?

It's been done before with an SBC, so yes, it's viable 
Doubt a mini-itx board would fit, maybe a uATX, but more likely a nanoITX. I'd suggest the SBC idea since it's for the most part cheaper than the alternatives.
