I'm working on a project for my car that uses 2 voltages, 1.5V and 4.5V. If possible, I'd like 1.5V for when the car is off (battery only,) and 4.5V when the power's on. Aside from buying 12V->1.5 and 4.5 DC-DC converters or using resistors, any suggestions? How do I make the 4.5V work only when the car is running, all 12V connections I can think of connect straight to the battery.
What do you need the 1.5V line for, like saving ram or data of some sort? (only thing I can think of off the top of my head that'd require constant power)
part of the LCD functions as a clock, requires an AAA to store the time, wakes up after when it's on with the 4.5, I could just leave an AAA in but I figured why not as long as I'm already drawing power for other things
