Bondo - good for you...good for me

What kind of brand are most of you using for Bondo? Is there something specific I should look out for? Price that's reasonable? Places to get them - online and offline?

the best bondo combo i think. is the bondo marine putty, which acts as a nice hard bondo to hold the part in place and has a little give so doesnt crack easily. then go over that bondo after you sand it with some bondo spot putty from a tube, which will fill in almost any small whole left in you marine putty.

i used this on my N64p and the case was much easier to work with and took a lot less time to work with. not to mention i think it looks a bit smoother than my other cases

i had a hard time finding bondo brand stuff so i bought the two things from www.midwayautosupply.com

i need to pick up marine putty, i always have been using standard bondo automotive body filler and it is a PAIN IN THE YOU KNOW WHAT to work with sometimes, spot putty is better but only a bit

i know what you mean that stuff from a can is a pain like you said, seems like it was too weak whenever i used it

Dude. Thats the exact same stuff/method I use! Guess we both found this combo to work pretty well. Neat!

BTW, I found out you can buy the stuff in 12" tubes at a plumbing store for really cheap. You might want to try looking there.

I tried the automotive stuff, didnt like it at all. Too hard to mix, to pricy, not strong enough, smelled, just not nearly as good as the marine putty.

well at first i used the can crud. but then in your N64p case and Game gear case mod i saw how smooth they looked and made the switch,
