Analog stick cramming and battery issues; Any ideas?

Post by CronoTriggerfan »

Okay, since school is coming up, I decided to take up a new hacking project to have something to look forward to when sitting, bored, in the classroom  . So, I decided to do a PSp. I'm gonna design it like Atkafighter's, but I don't care for the analog stick placement. So what I want to do is try out G-Force's awesome analog stick shrinking mod and try to shove them in their natural positions, below the D-pad and action buttons. Seeing as I don't have the parts to measure yet, would this work, or would I run outta room?

Another thing: I'm going to make this portable run off of regular, normal AA batteries. How many cells should I wire in a series? I'd like it to be able to utilize regular AA (alkaline) batteries, but also be okay to use my rechargeable Ni-MH AA's. Seeing as there's a bit of a voltage difference, what would be good? I was thinking 6, but just making sure.

Thanks,
CTFan

6 AAs sounds about right. It'd be 7.2v for rechargables, and 9v for alkaline. So yeah.

Though I hope you're doing the LED mod. I can't see you getting much play time.

6 should be enough... Got any ideas on the disc drive yet? I always disliked the 'disk outside of the case' designs.

The second analog stick of the PS1 dual shock is just so useless. And so is the joypad if you've got the left analog stick. You'd definently be able to put everything in there if you cut down the circuits for those 2.
