My controller story

Post by Gump-in-space »

So I was looking at the N64 in my brother's room and I thought: "man those are the worst thumbsticks on the freakin' planet" so I pickes up the controler and think: "Is there a way to fix the problem of these things getting loose?" Let the nightmare commence....

I get the thing open after struggling with the FIVE stripped screws on the back, and everything looks normal... "lets see... this must open the thumbstick" As the thread of the screw leaves its home a massive amount of problems suddenly hit me in the face. There is some sort of connection INSIDE the stick, and I had bent the plastic while trying to open the thing, white powder pours out onto my lab as I struggle to get it closed, the spring falls out of line, a screw falls INTO the thumbstick and I didn't see it happen, so I closed it up, and can't find the screw to keep it closed. I got the controller closed again, but this is a experiance I will never forget. Lesson learned: Don't mess with Nintendo's fine line of merchandice. PS: The only thing that can make me even more humilliated is if there was never any way to fix it.

Didn't someone here fix it by replacing theirs with one from a gamecube?
