Atari 2600 Compatible. 192 games in 1

Hello!.
I have an Atari 2600 jr clone. It has 192 games built in. I want to shrink the motherboard and to make the A/V mod. But all the tutorials are for original atari motherboards and this one its a lot different. Can anyone help me wit this?. Its possbile to give me some advcie if i post pics of the motherboard?.

I don't know how you can cut the Atari Jr down, if it's like a standard 4 switch the main guts should be in the center surrounded by a grounding strip. As for the A/V mod this should workout. If you're going to use this for something like a PSone screen you're going to have to look over Ben's "improved" A/V mod and work that into the Jr.

Could you post pictures of the clone motherboard? That way, we can tell you exactly what you can take off. My general assumption is that there is silver grounding strip surrounding parts of the mobo; this can all go. As for it's status as an Atari CLONE, shrinking the mobo via cutting may not be a good idea; clones are normally poorly made and have fragile motherboards, therefore it is quite possible to damage/kill your clone in the shrinking process. Just a warning.

If you had some higher quality pics I'd love to help, Looks like it has the all 3 atari chips built into the dip48 package. IIRC some later 2600s had 2 of the chips built together, but I don't think I've heard of a 3-in-one.

Fllicker srinks the pics a little. All the pics in my pc has 24 ppp. And was taken with the higher resolution. Any way to upload the pics without lossing the quality?.
What pic you need. I can take it again if you need a more detailed pic of one part of the mother.

Well if the Jr is a single chip. talk to Ben. He's made a PCB that would work with the single chip Atari, so you can ask if he can give you the protoype or he might just out right want it for himself.

Well, i uploaded all the pics in your site. The best quality in my camera is 24 bpp (3,2 mp).
I don't want to make a portable. Here's my project:

1) Shrink the motherboard a bit.
2) Change the power source circuit.
3) Put an ac adaptor inside the case.
4) Make the A/V Mod to improve graphics and to make it compatible with newer TVs.

This Atari 2600 was my first console and i'd love to play with it again.

I'll see what I can do over the weekend now. I should be able to trace most connections to identify pins on the dip48 IC.
Also, the games look like they're on multiple roms with bankswitching over a few addresses and CE (might be what the NAND and counter chip are for, haven't traced it yet)

Sorry, been a bit busy with work, I have did a little bit though. It's a bit tough with just pictures, but I think it shouldn't be too bad.

I has moderated electronic skills. You can ask me to use the multimeter in some points or make any measurement if you want. The most important thing is the A/V mod. I'm unable to do that right now because i don't know where work in the mother. Don't try too hard, as i said i'm not in a hurry . Good luck!
