anyone know about thumb drives?

Suddenly my JumpDrive Secure has stopped working. it will not even connect to any PC or anything. Anyone have a clue as to how to fix it?

It has some vital data on it that I really need, if it cant be fixed any way to remove the data from it.

Make sure the USB port(s) & the connector have no dust in them. (I've encountered problems w/ dusty USB ports...)

Sky: how specific do I need to be, It won't do anything it won't link to any computer, the little green light won't even light up it won't do anything at all, although one time the pc said that it couldn't find the drivers for the usb device even though it has worked many, many times on that pc.

atari: no dust anywhere on either side.

Well connect to your computer, and see if the device even shows up in your "Device Manager", if it does you likely have a problem with not bing able to read the partition. If your computer can't read the partition your partition index or just too many files are curropted for your computer to read it. If you don't see it in the "Device Manager" then you're likely hosed, and the thumb drive is about as useful as a blown fuse.

then I am probablly hosed cause it dosen't show up at all anywhere. is there any way to get data off it

First, try rebooting your computer. This is a magical thing that seems to fix a computer with funky problems. If that doesn't work, try putting it in another computer. If that doesn't work, your drive is probably dead. If you want to remove data from it for safety, I think the easiest way would be a sledgehammer

found the prob: a crystal had come undone from the board. resoldered it and it is fixed
