PS2's USB ports

Post by sk »

Is there something useful or at least fun to do with that USB ports of the PS2???? Mines are full of dust and I can't stand just blowing them.

To my knowledge the only thing the USB ports are used for are keyboard/mouse, and maybe a USB controller (not too likely). I did hear from someone on the fourms, take this at face value (which is zero), that they were able to plug a USB thumb drive into a PS2 and it read it as a memory card.

Unfortunetly Sony put in ports that were high tech at the time but didn't bother to make wide spread use of them. Like the only time you use the iLink is for connecting two PS2s together, and the USB ports are used mostly with the Linux Kit.

I heard you can plug like a Sony mp3 player into them, and listen to music ingame or on the cd player thingy on it.

Hi.. this is my first time here... Very looooong time reading but this is my first post....

talking about the usb... you can use stuff like "Max Drive" to download/upload save from/to PC/Internet/Memory card... you can use one for that and the other one can be removed and use as a 5v power sourse to power a fan, leds or... charge your Ipod :|
