*whimper* help! Relocation problems 56K Beware of links
Ok so I relocated the cartridge slot. And the super nintendo is not showing anything on the speakers or screen (seperate audio amp). The screen still turns on like normal.
I used enameled wire about 5" long (it varies), and after I was finished (and before I turned it on) I cleaned the board thoroughly with flux cleaner and a paper towel. Then I cleaned in between everything very well. Several times.
Next I checked all the connections on the cartridge end for shorts, then the board end for shorts. Then I checked that the board was still connected to the cartridge slot.
I put a game in and...nothing...
Well the screen and such lit up, but nothing happened game-wise.
I thought I might have put it in backwards, so I flipped the game around. Funny thing. When you put it in backwards the screen doesn't light up?
I flipped it back, and the screen lit up.
Any idea what's wrong? Is it a goner?

That's really odd, never heard of such a thing happening. Perhaps the game being upside down when the screen doesn't work means that since the right pins aren't getting to the right spot on the SNES, making an incomplete circuit.
Try wiring up the vid/aud lines up to another console and see if it works, just to be safe. Also, just double-check all your connections. There's not much more I can help with...

If it's a big SNES, it could be that damn fuse that's taken like 4 of my SNESes out of service & into tha garage...

try reattaching your cart slot first and seeing if that works then If it does take it out again and slowly attache each wire making sure no are crossed and the like
Also, Take into considerationcleaning your cart that you try with a q-tip and making sure it is in the correct way, try flipping it even if you think it is right

If re-wiring doesn't work, try resoldering the cart slot directly to the board again, so it's a bit more failsafe. If that works, then you know that the problem was in your relocation.
If you still get problems, there is one last (but unlikely) shot: Try buying a new SNES cart slot offa, say, DigiKey or Mouser and use that. Perhaps your cart slot pins were damaged somehow, I doubt it though.
Good luck!

Ok well I was cleaning in-between the pins, and I had something happen. Just for a little bit though, I turned it off and on to see if I could get it better if I reset the system. And it was gone.
What I got was the same blank screen when you don't have anything in it, and some coloured squares placed randomly on the screen.
Kind of like halfway between one of those cheap fades from a black slide to a nice colourful super mario title screen.
You know, the kind you get in such applications as Powerpoint.
So now I ask you. Is this a flux bridge that got cleaned JUST enough to show some picture, a loose wire, or two touching wires? What's your guess?
UPDATE:
I checked for grounded pins. I found 2. After I fixed them, I didn't get picture, but I get some garbled static coming out of the speakers. (I'm assuming this is the Super Mario World Theme Song.)
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
