Screen Problems

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Screen Problems

Post by vskid »

I got this screen from a car DVD player a month or so ago and led modded it. But every time I've used it outside of the player it has had problems getting colors right. There are pots on the board that can change the tint, brightness, etc., but it seems like every time the screen changes (like switching menus) the colors almost disappear (it goes b&w with a bit of color left). It also seems to happen when only a few colors are on the screen (like launching out of the cannon on SM 64 straight up and the sky goes gray, but I start falling back down the colors fade back as grass and dirt appear).
On the line in on the DVD player there is a cap and another component (the symbol is a loopy line, but it isn't a resistor). I think the absence of these components is causing the problem, but I'm not sure. Could anyone help me?

Could someone at least tell me if they think the two components on the line in would correct this problem?

I don't think so, it would just suck if I did all that stuff and it didn't work. I'll try anyways.
