Nintendo made it themselves, so the short answer is probably "Yes". Whether or not a joystick and table top unit is as good as a controller for every game is a different story, but people seem to like this device in general, from what I've heard, and I like it well enough.

If you mean, do this controller's features work on all games, I think you should know that the slow motion function is kinda cheesy and does not work in all games. The slow mo just toggles the start button over and over again, really fast, making a pause/unpasue effect that can supposedly slow down your game. It is very annoying in most games, and if your game uses the start button for something other than pasue it will not work at all. The turbo buttons should work in just about any game, because if you think about it, if you could press those buttons on a normal controller really fast, the turbo function does the same thing.

i just need start,select a, b and the joystick.
Im using it to build a NES arcade machine(well two of them)

In that case you may be better off making your own layout. Search for the NES chip pinout.
