powering the hip gear screen pad

Hey guys, sorry if this is a noobish question, but i decided to ask before i do so i don't fry anything like i have before. I'm trying to power the hip gear with the audio and speakers working.

I've used the search function and read all of ladyada's notes on the hipgear, and what i gather is that the hip gear needs 12-20vDC on the main power line. But she says the control board needs 6v and the screen board needs 5v. So can i send 6v via the main power line and have everything work? Or do i need to connect power elsewhere... like directly to the 7808 regulator on the control board and somewhere else on the screen board?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
